His grandfather, Sardar Teja Singh Samundri, was a highly respected individual known for his contributions to Gurdwara Sudhar Movement before Independence. His father, Bishan Singh Samundri, held the prestigious position of Vice-Chancellor at Guru Nanak Dev University.
Their exemplary leadership and dedication to education have greatly influenced Taranjit Singh Sandhu, inspiring him to uphold their legacy of excellence and service in his own endeavours.

He is grandson of Sardar Teja Singh Samundri and son of Bishan Singh Samundri, founder Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, and Jagjit Kaur Sandhu, an academician.
After years of serving the community and advocating for the people of India in foreign nation, Sandhu is now ready to make history by running for political office in Amritsar. His futuristic vision for the transformation of Amritsar is sure to bring positive change to the city.
